Democracy in the Driver's Seat was a huge project for me. I had the opportunity to work with talented film professionals from the chicago area to create a thrilling, suspenseful movie.
I oversaw the art direction of the titles, bus wraps, interior bus design, the PBC transit system and film color.
The idea behind the opening sequence was to emulate a split flap display that is used in transporation terminals. The font chosen also ties into bus lane and transportation fonts that you see painted on city streets.
For color, we start out on a bright oversaturated scene that amplifies the frenetic nature of the sequence.
We then desaturate the film to a more natural look while the chase sequence plays out. Then on the last sequence, we darken the film as we descend into the horror of the last scene.

PBC, The People's Bus Company, was created to have a classic city transportation system in place. We created a bus wrap, driver uniforms, bus stop signage.
